David is currently leading tribal outreach efforts for utility-scale renewable energy projects with over 20 tribes throughout the western US. He serves as an Executive Officer for 7Skyline, LLC, and is a Tribal Liaison for Navajo Power, PBC. A member of the Colorado River Indian Tribes (CRIT), David served as the first director of their Tribal Historic Preservation Office (THPO). He was responsible for establishing the office and developing its codes and ordinances. As both a consultant and THPO director, he has worked on Western energy projects, including the Genesis Solar Project with NextEra, the Blythe Solar I and II Projects with First Solar, and the Palin Project with EDF.
David co-led the preparation of Voices from The West, Findings from Interviews Regarding Energy on Tribal Lands, a companion document to The Nature Conservancy’s Power of Place – West, a regional renewable energy study covering the 11 western states. David is also a founding board member and current chairman of Greenaction for Health and Environmental Justice and served on the board of the Betty Ford Center and as the Chairman of the Colorado River branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).
